Does your Hair Need Protein or Moisture?
Protein Indicators

*Recently Chemically treated
If you have recently colored or lighted (bleached) your hair this might be a good sign your hair is lacking protein. often the process removes keratin from the hair leaving it vulnerable to breakage.

* Feels like Cotton
when your hair feels elastic like a rubber band or mushy in your fingers this means your hair needs protein.

* Consistently breaking
hair the lacks protein will easily break off while brushing, sleeping or in any tight hairstyle. its important to be very gentle and extra caution when the hair is wet. this is when the most breakage can occur.

* Wont retain Color or Style
If you find that your toners are fading super quickly your hair is most likely porous which means its less likely to retain moisture or color. When the hair is dry and
limpy and won't hold curls it can also mean your hair is porous, porous hair often lacks protein.

Moisture Indicators

* Regular heat styling
Do you use heat on your hair often? If so your hair might be lacking moisture. High heat dehydrates the hair and evaporates the moisture out of the hair strand leaving it dry.

* Feels brittle and dry
If your hair is feeling rough and dry especially towards your ends your hair needs more moisture. Dryness also contributes to dull hair.

* Tangles easily
dry hair does lay flat, making it easy for the hair to become tangled. which can lead to breakage.

*Snaps or breaks easily
Healthy hair when dry has some stretch if the hair strand doesn't stretch and breaks its a sign of damaged hair which also lacks moisture.

* Is Frizzy and Lacks shine
Hot tools or hot water strips your hair of moisture and leaves the hair cuticle open which prevents your hair from lying flat. This will leave your hair feeling course.
